This was a wonderful trip by car starting in the beautiful mountains of Ashville, North Carolina, USA, passing through the lower part of the state to beautiful Edenton, NC then down through Myrtle Beach along the eastern coast of South Carolina to the beautiful city of Charleston.
Our target was to be in Charleston for the great "eclipse" and it was one of the most delightful experiences of my life! And yes, we saw the whole process, it did go dark and we avoided the surrounding clouds - so it was a success!!!

Charleston & the Eclipse Experience
It was quite an experience traveling from Asheville North Carolina to Charleston South Carolina seeing all the sites along the way. We went through the Biltmore and experiencing "going back in time"!
Just getting to see the eclipse for the first time was life changing for me - experiencing something like that in person for the first time in my lifetime!
There was quite a lineup of traffic on the way out of town! But it was all worth it!!!
