Conservancy of Southwest Florida
A lovely visit! With the price of admission, you also get a free boat ride around the inlets - a very relaxing an educational experience! Aside from the nice boat ride, I also enjoyed the animal hospital, where I got to see a recovering turtle and the aviary with injured birds.
The property is beautiful and just looking around the gift shop is a nice experience. One of my favorite parts was watching the baby turtle swim around in the large aquarium. One of the ladies brought out a big snake as you can see in the photos!
I love that the conservancy raises sea turtles till they are adolescent and then releases them back into the wild. A wonderful educational experience for kids of all ages!

WHY THE CONSERVANCY IS UNIQUE...
The mission of the Conservancy of Southwest Florida is to “protect Southwest Florida’s unique natural environment and quality of life, now and forever.” The organization is located on 21 acres in Naples, Florida and features the Conservancy of Southwest Florida Nature Center.
The Conservancy’s mission focuses on CONSERVANCY critically impacting Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties. We leverage the combined expertise of environmental science, policy, education and wildlife rehabilitation teams to meet our mission.
This home we share is like no other place on earth. Together, we can protect Southwest Florida’s natural assets for future generations to enjoy.
SCIENCE AND RESEARCH ...
Scientists at the Conservancy have an active research agenda aimed at enhancing our understanding of ecosystems and associated wildlife in Southwest Florida. The work of the Environmental Science Department includes ecological research, monitoring programs, restoration initiatives, collaboration with universities and state and federal agencies and community outreach. Water quality monitoring, Western Everglades restoration and sea turtle monitoring & protection are just some of the focus areas of the department.
